Fix Discord in Turkey on a Mac, without a VPN
Discord is blocked in Turkey. Here's how to get the Discord app and voice working on macOS with Keçiyol's Bypass DPI, while every other app stays on your normal connection.
Why Discord doesn't load in Turkey
Discord has been blocked in Turkey since October 2024. Internet providers stop it by reading the site name in the first message your app sends and by answering DNS lookups for Discord with a dead address. Both happen before any data is exchanged, so the app just sits there loading.
Get Discord working
- Open Keçiyol, go to settings and choose Bypass DPI. No VPN server or subscription is needed.
- Leave the method on Split TLS record, choose an encrypted DNS resolver (Cloudflare, Google or Quad9) and keep Block QUIC on, so Discord falls back to a path Keçiyol can reshape.
- Back on the main page, turn on Discord and press Connect. Your browser, games and everything else stay exactly as they were.
- Quit and reopen Discord so it makes fresh connections.
If it still doesn't connect
- If Discord gets stuck on its updater, switch the method to Fragment TLS handshake and connect again. It sends the opening message in small pieces with a short gap, which gets through stricter filters at the cost of a little delay on new connections.
- If voice won't connect but text works, keep encrypted DNS on: Keçiyol retries IPv4 when Discord keeps picking an IPv6 address your network can't reach.
What this can't do
Bypass DPI hides the name of the site from hostname filters. It doesn't change your IP address or encrypt your traffic, and it can't help if a provider blocks Discord's servers by address. If that happens on your network, use Keçiyol's VPN mode for Discord instead.
Keçiyol sends only the apps you pick through a VPN, or past your ISP's filter with no VPN at all. $19.99, once.
